1947 – 2021* and as India steps into the 75th Year of Independence, Xaxti Riders commemorated this special occasion with,
The Platinum Jubilee Fun Freedom 75kms/ 30kms Cycle Ride
We had the proud privilege of sharing space with Headquarters Goa Naval Area and the Verna Industries Association to indeed create Civilian, Defense and Industry synergy on this memorable occasion.
Xaxti Riders also had the support of the Goa Olympic Association for the event.
A record registration of 495 and there were 450 participants lined up at the Start line on the morning of Sunday 15th August 2021 !!!
The Goan cycling community in large numbers came together for this mega event with cyclists from Propedlarz , Panjim Cycling Club, Vasco Cycling Club, Slopes & Bends and Amona Cyclists. Xaxti Rider’s race team Xaxti Racing was joined by Team Equipe of Panjim.
Margao’ s cultural hub Ravindra Bhavan which has always supported the Xaxti Riders created the perfect backdrop for the massive line up.
Adding a patriotic vibrancy to the gathered cyclists was our very own XR Allan Abreu who set pace for a smooth flow of the entire morning!!!
A very special occasion and the Xaxti Riders, Xaxti Racing riders, Goa Naval Area riders and riders from the Verna Industries Association stood tall wearing the national colours on a specially curated jersey by Daily Crayon for this event. It was truly unity through diversity with riders from Civilian, Defense and Industry united in their attire for an occasion that was bigger than the organisation they stood for.
The National Anthem resounded through the environs of Ravindra Bhavan Margao before an on-the-dot First flag off by our Chief Guest Rear Admiral Philipose George Pynumootil, AVSM, NM at 6.40am for the Race teams and riders of the Headquarters Goa Naval Area.
Former cricketeer and the hero of the 1983 Cricket World Cup, Mr.Mohinder Amarnath along with Mr.Nitin Kuncolienkar the founder of Verna Industries Association who were our Guests of Honour did us the honour of flagging off the subsequent batches of riders with the last batch of 30 km riders pedalling out as scheduled at 6.55 am.
Xaxti Riders were extremely honoured to also have 77 year old Rtd.Admiral , 1971 War Veteran and ex Chief of Naval Staff Arun Prakash as a part of the riding contingent. A fitting personality for a fitting occasion.
A beautiful route through our South Goa hinterlands ….with a warm greeting for the 75kms riders at Quepem by XR Alwyn Menezes with his team! This tradition was started by XR Alwynbab Menezes and his wife Vanita and no Xaxti cycling event which passes through Quepem is complete without it!
A much needed Water Point at Sulcorna on the 75kms route and XR Oliver with his team energized the riders with bananas, vanilla muffins and Enerzal our official hydration partner for the event.
XR Johnny ‘s Guirdolim Water Point was the perfect half way stop for the compact 30kms route! Samosas to add punch and rich wine cake for the sugar boost!! A rejuvenating water mist spray manned by Johnny himself and our Techman Sarva provided the much needed skin hydration for the final push to Finish Point for the 75 kms riders.
Ambulances provided by Aster Hospital Margao and the Goa Naval Area had every rider’s back for this unique ride as also sweeper vehicles organised by Xaxti Rider Blaise Costabir and the Goa Naval Area.
The success of an event is measured by the participation… 400 plus riders and even better was the wholesome participation of women and children. Not to be left out were seniors with the enthusiasm of teenagers!
With one woman or child rider for every four men riders ….it was a feather in our Xaxti helmets indeed!
A festive yet fitting the Covid protocol atmosphere greeted the finishers at Ravindra Bhavan. Every rider wore a free blue mask to match the Platinum Jubilee jersey. A sleekly crafted platinum finish medal awaited every finisher. No rush there! As every finisher rider walked a smooth passage to receive the medal. A packaged brunch of delights from the Raia based Lourdes Cafe made for a nice repast! Bolinhas and resoises never tasted so yummy before!! Orange juice and adrenaline made it complete.
As curtains draw on this event which has surpassed all our expectations, we are extremely grateful to our sponsors who supported us on all fronts!

After a 2020 which shook the world and the early 2021 which had us all reeling from the Covid Second wave, exercising caution was primary, Xaxti Riders are proud to declare that every registered rider for this Platinum Jubilee Fun Freedom ride has been vaccinated with a minimum of a single dose or has recovered from Covid. Bike tags were issued only to riders who had submitted their vaccination certAs curtains draw on this event which has surpassed all our expectations, we are extremely grateful to our sponsors who supported us on all fronts!
As the actual Fun Freedom Ride got flagged off from the venue, miles across we had registered riders who cycled in their own cities …and posted their virtual rides to us! How much nicer could it get! Lorraine from Cochin, Kerures from Mumbai, Anupama and Aditya from Orissa, Govind Raj from Bengaluru enthusiastically participated in our event from their locations and made it truly a national event and these are only few of them!
As we mark the start of the 75th year of Independence, a request to all to wear the Platinum Jubilee Jersey during this year.

What a great write-up about a great event. I came from Mapusa. It was the first time I have ever taken part in a group ride. Your organisation was impeccable. The fun and enthusiastic spirit of the participants is something I really enjoyed. please do organise more such rides. More power to you all!
A Xaxti Riders event is much awaited event among cycling enthusiasts. This was no exception. 500 registrations in less than 2 hours is testimony to this fact!
As expected this was a finely curated event with meticulously planned route with strategically placed water points manned by enthusiastic volunteers who made the riders feel like royalty.
Ride to mark 75th Anniversary of Indias Independence was made extra special with the participation of the Indian Navy.

Did my first xaxti event in Feb this year…and though I could not make it to Goa for this event.. I was happy to participate and support from Kerala…Missed the excitement of participating with 100s of other cyclists….All the best for future events.. and hopefully I can come over to goa and attend future events…

This time we also had immense support from none other than the Indian Navy i.e Hqtrs Goa Naval Area. The Verna Industries Association also had our back to enable us to give all the registered riders a perfect event on a day so close to all our hearts! Every Xaxti Rider also put in their own personal efforts to the fullest!

Xaxti Independence Day Fun Freedom Ride: truly a great ride …. The organising team left no stone unturned to make it a grand success. In fact it was like this year’s 2nd edition of Xaxti-💯. “What was a truly thrilling sight was particularly participation of Father-Son riders…or may be mom-son riders or the whole of a 2 generations riding together”…Witnessed 2 such…but definitely there were a dozen or so… That’s only how we can inculcate the habit of doing a bit for mother nature at this age. A big KUDOS to the President Xaxti Riders, President VIA & Indian Navy Goa…and to all those who made todays ride a splendid, amazing and truly memorable experience to fellow riders of Goa. Each ride with xaxti riders is unique… each hydration point you stop, volunteers ensure that you are propelled with the next dose of nutrients!!! From ambulance escorting the riders to the magnificently designed medal with a antique look.. to a elegantly designed event jersey…and tasty refreshments at the end !!! Awwstruck to mention all the minute hospitality and seamless organisation. One should ride with Xaxti riders event once to experience the Camaraderie and the hospitality! Viva Xaxti riders! VIVA cycling!!! Hope you keep organizing such events in Goa more and more..
What a stupendous ride! Well curated and organised. Everything went like clockwork right down to the smallest detail and the ride started on the dot of the designated time of 640am. The presence of our servicemen for the Naval base, lead by Rear Admiral Philipose, War Hero Admiral Arun Prakash (Retd) Braveheart Indian Legendary Cricket Mohinder Amarnath, made this ride even more special. Kudos to the entire Xaxti Riders Think Tank!
There could have been no other way than this amazing cycling event to Celebrate & mark India’s 75th Year of Independence. Truly enjoyed the ride of 30 Kms although it was my life’s first kind of a long cycling ride! It was really a fun filled experience enjoying the greenery & scenic beauty of Chandor village & other beautiful landscape.
Thanks to Pradip Da Cost our good friend & President of VIA for giving those motivating tips, also Sarvesh Parab, Sandeep Prabhu, Vincent Flores & our master Rajveer Sarvesh Parab for loveable company & caring for each other during ride.

I’m new to cycling and this was my first organised ride and was very excited to be a part of it (Sleepless night with anxiety). Heard a lot about the way Xaxti riders organise their events and I dont think anyone who was part of these Independence day Freedom Fun Ride will have any complaints. Managing 495 riders over 75km stretch is not a joke and the execution by a team of Xaxti riders volunteers was top notch. A lot of work goes behind the screen for days and from registration to printing and distributing bike tags to special edition jerseys and mask, guidance and smooth communication to new riders like me was done at par to best. Thanks to VIA, Indian Navy and all other sponsors for making it a success. A stretch of 75kms was well marked so no riders had issues with rides. A special thanks to all the volunteers from the start point to the guys who controlled the traffic at some junctions to the quepem team who encouraged us with whistling and cheers to the midway refreshment point where in every rider was loaded with refreshments and warmth to the cool zone point where in the body heat was well dissipated with the water mist so the last 10-12 km was so refreshing for the riders and the finish point where in the volunteers took care of the cycles so the riders can celebrate their achievement. Overall a great organised ride looking at every aspect to be perfect. Definitely you guys as xaxti riders kept up the wonderful work as always. Made Goan cyclist proud.

This is the biggest event in the history of Xaxti Riders since it’s inception, that too with the pandemic around. Every XR event is remarkable and noteworthy by the magnitude of riders from all over. Cheers Sameer and all XR’s. It’s a dream come true in almost 4 years.

It’s was a wonderfully organized XR-75 event. All arrangements were done perfectly well by the XR Club from start to finish. The camaraderie togetherness, the participation from kids to elders and the scenic routes choosen makes the whole experience an event to remember and come back for more.
Being the 75th Independence Day of India, it made us come out and be part of this event with all the more enthusiasm. Be it the 30km ride or the 75km ride, every rider had a smile while’s riding. I was happy and joyful to be part of this XR-75 Independence Day ride.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav : INDIA’S 75th Independence day is a special day.
And what a brilliant and beautiful way the cycling fraternity of Goa celebrated it, Wow…close to 500 Riders from all over Goa and riding thru the picturesque South Goa hinterland in the specially designed jersey along the carefully curated route.
That’s another Grand event successfully planned to the perfection by XAXTI RIDERS. The club President Arch Sameer Nadkarni supported by several fellow members turned spontaneous volunteers including his better half Binota Nadkarni…executed in style what was a great plan.
This time it was even larger and more applauded due to the collaboration with the Verna Industrial Association ( VIA). Pradip D’Costa from VIA brought in the enthusiasm and the support from the most elite Industrial Park in Goa.
INDIA’S independence day….so how can one have the event laced more with the emotions? O Man…there came in the Indian Navy’s GNA….to lend this fabulous event with the great feeling of Nationalism. The dare devils from the Indian Navy rode with the XRs and other riders….and the atmosphere was electric.
The support along the route exactly where a cyclist will get tired…extended warm cheering with smiles and water, electrolyte, banana and other goodies. If the sun shined bright in the morning, there was even a water jet spray to soothe you….can one believe it? The most talented photographers patrolling thru the entire 75 km route…gifted to the riders with photos which will be treasured for the lifetime.
There are quite a few cycling events which happen in the US, France, Germany and even in our own India which will catch the attention of all the riders from around…for their scale, grandeur, spirit of the participants and the organizers. Did the XAXTI Riders just accomplished one such event. What do you think? I felt YES…surely in terms of perfection in planning and execution as well as for the spontaneity of all the people who made this happen. Kudos and 3 cheers

It was indeed a privilege and a pleasure to be a part of XR’s Fun, Freedom Ride.
This being my first participation in such an event and with another beginner cyclist in tow, I had my share of anxieties in the run-up to the event. But the organisation, execution and also support along the way far exceeded all expectations.
It was a memorable experience thanks to what must have been meticulous planning followed by superb implementation by all the volunteers.

What an amazing event. It was exhilarating just being at the finish line and seeing the send off and the ethusiam of all the riders,. Young and old alike. What amazed me is seeing kids as small as 7 years take part,
I was very impressed with the planning and execution..all covid protocols were in place and followed.
Wonderful to have the navy as co organisers and participants, in fact the xaxti riders organised the event with navy precision!
I am now totally motivated to join…first have to get my cycle and helmet

Platinum ride organised by Xaxti riders on 15th Aug 21 was a fun filled ride. The ride was with a purpose and it was to enhance Nationalism. Imagine more than 400 cyclists with special jersey indicating 75th Independence Day, we together went deep into hinterlands and made every citizen aware of the freedom we all enjoy, without even knowing how priceless sacrifices were given by our fore fathers to acheive Independence from Britishers. We also enjoyed the scenic beauty of Goa and interacted with fellow riders. It was great experience.
Excellent team work and dedication shown by Xaxti riders to complete such a big event.

Well conceptualised El Presidente Sameer Bab & Team, XAXTI riders have made history in the cycling fraternity in Goa and India as well in a huge way.
But self missed a mega mega event.
On the 75th Independence Day, 75 km ride organized by Xaxti riders, VIA and Indian Navy was a truly memorable event. 595 riders, impeccable organization, fantastic vistas, perfect weather, great camaraderie all along made the ride extra special.
Kudos to my friends Sameer, Binota, Pradeep, Oliver, Johnny, Blaise and all others involved for curating and overseeing this Platinum ride.

It gave me goosebumps to see 500 riders on the 15 th of Aug ride onwards towards fun , freedom and a healthy life style. Being associated with Xaxti since inception it gives me so much pride and pleasure to see a small sapling planted grow to such a big tree!
A causual friendly ride between friends and acquaintances, has become a daily event with regular large curated rides the 100, 200 and other special occasion rides.
Xaxti promotes healthy lifestyle along with fun and sightseeing with family and friends. . Being in Goa for a lifetime I saw Goa and it’s villages and scenic countryside only when I started cycling.
We at Aster feel proud to be associated with Xaxti right from inception . In the coming years I foresee a cycling revolution and the day is not far behind when we will be having cycling lanes, and no cars and majority using bicycles.
I hope my dream of a clean and a healthy Goa will happen in this lifetime !
Kudos! What a fantastic cycling event by the Xaxti riders on the 75th Independence Day . I registered for the event unfortunately fractured my arm few days before the event . However didn’t want to miss it , so went ahead to volunteer . It was so much fun to cheer up all my cycling buddies ! The whole cycling route was so scenic . The event was fantastically organised. The hydration stations were well taken care of ! I am sure every participant had a memorable time . Looking forward for such more events . And thanks to Sameer and all the organisers .

With the true spirit of nation and its freedom we the xaxti riders got the privilege to celebrate our 75th independence year with the Indian Navy and the VIA that made this event a memorable one. On this special day Aiden my son aged 9 marked his first 75km ride with pride. Thank you all for gifting us this lovely Passion of cycling. Viva xaxti riders.
It was unfortunate that I was not able to Join this Ride , but followed every bit of it on what’s app and with friends.
No doubt Sameer and entire Xaxti Riders team, have put their full heart behind this Platinum Jubilee Independence Ride.
Going through smiling pictures of the riders , the “XR” event has given real joy and feeling of independence to all.

Yet another spectacular event by Xaxti Riders… The success of the Xaxti Freedom Ride -2021 can be quantified from the massive response from the cycling enthusiasts riding at the event and those riding for the event across the country. Indeed each minute of the ride was thoroughly an enjoyable experience! When it is quality of the event, @ Xaxti there is no compromise whatsoever! Congratulations to the President Sameer Nadkarni and the organizing team for the meticulous planning and execution involved in reaching out to every micro detail of the event. Xaxti Riders…keep inspiring! Looking forward to many more mega events!!
It is exactly an year, on 15th August’2020, that my good friends Czarina & Oliver introduced me to this wonderful XR Familia at the Loutolim end of the new NH-17B that goes through Verna Industrial Estate, for an Independence Day XR Event. Their whole intent was to get me into the cycling fraternity, given their concern for my growing obesity. Reluctant that I was then, I am sincerely indebted to them both now. The parental approach of Binny & Sameer for the XR Family is something un-paralleled and that is what draws me so much to the XR’s.
It was great to have been part of Organizing Team of the Event this year with my buddy and VIA Mentor Blaise.
And then managing to get the Headquarters Goa Naval Area to partner it, thanks to the personal connection to Rear Admiral Philipose through our common school time buddy Monish Shah, which came as an icing on the cake.
Given the Covid-19 Scare, I had a lot of apprehensions, as both Sameer & I, had given personal assurance to the District Collector, that Covid-19 Safety protocols would be followed to the T. And thankfully, to an amazingly cooperative participant team, despite their varied backgrounds and ages, all went off fantastically well.

Sitting on the sidelines O watched the enthusiasm build up, right from the jersey launch, the volunteers ride which tested the route and finally the actual event. What we do not see is the meticulous planning that goes into organising a flawless event by XR President Sameer and his team. No stone is left unturned or to chance.
The partnership with the Indian Navy and Verna Industries Association added to the glitz and visibility of the event.
The high profile personalities who flagged off the 30 and 75 km rides only added to the atmosphere.
All said and done it was a memorable cycling event with 450 plus riders and one fitting to mark India ‘s 75th Independence Day.
To many more such rides which will increase fitness and camaraderie.
